Description: TBEA’s master plan for the Chumash property envisioned a casino with 2000 slots, gaming tables, a bingo hall, a variety of restaurants, event spaces, two parking garages and a 105-key hotel – on a site totaling 4.5 acres!
Site restrictions required planning and building the Chumash project in two distinct phases, a difficult phasing process that ensured phase II construction did not interfere with on-going operations. The completed project features a contemporary design scheme that uses the natural colors and textures of wood and stone to successfully nestle the built-environment among the pristine rolling hills and oak forests of the resort’s rural location.
The unique interior design for the entry is highlighted by two dramatic waterfalls flanking main escalators, with the building’s arrival sequence capped by a striking sunburst chandelier of our own design.
