The Phoenix Valley’s oldest gaming property becomes the newest as the new Fort McDowell Casino at WeKoPa Resort nears completion. The new casino will be 166,341 square feet and features an elegant tribal themed garden court, specialty high end dining with al fresco seating options, a sports bar with an entertainment stage, poker, quick serve food and beverage options, a new bingo hall, a multi-level parking garage, and several additional amenities. The grand opening of this new casino is scheduled for October 29, 2020 and you won’t believe how beautiful this new casino is until you step inside!
During the Grand Opening of the new Fort McDowell Casino at We-Ko-Pa Resort, the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation officially rebranded the completed property as the “We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort.” We were delighted to be in attendance as President Bernadine Burnette cut the ceremonial ribbon to welcome guests into the new casino!
Our Project Manager, Christopher Urhahn, and Vice President + Principal, Nick Schoenfeldt, made two trips this month to punch list the new Fort McDowell Casino at WeKoPa Resort. We are pleased to see how this project has transformed with the addition of landscaping outside and finish details inside. Look for the Grand Opening this Fall!
On June 11th our team took to the skies and traveled out to beautiful Arizona so we could visit this project site and inspect the progress of construction in person. We’re excited to see that so much progress has been made in all areas of the new casino, and we are delighted to share some of the latest pictures as this project rapidly drawing closer to completion!
COVID-19 and social distancing haven’t slowed down progress on this beautiful new casino in the least. This month we’re excited to see several finishing touches being installed to make each area a unique sensory experience. Millwork, lighting, carpet, tile, landscaping, and other architectural elements all work in tandem to make the new We-Ko-Pa Casino a unique and attractive entertainment destination!
March & April 2020
While the global economy came to a screeching halt, we’re glad to report that progress continued to be made on every area of the new We-Ko-Pa Casino!
February has passed in a flurry of exciting developments, especially noticeable on the interior of the new We-Ko-Pa Casino. We are always delighted to see President Burnette and other leaders from the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation’s Tribal Council on site and taking a strong interest in the progress of this beautiful property.
The latest images from Nick Schoenfeldt’s visit to Fort McDowell, Arizona have got us feeling excited as construction crews make serious progress inside and out on this new Casino.
